After reviewing the lengthy thread here and here, it was clear the developers are entrenched on their position to not support a community requested feature to be able to turn off SOME of the dependencies for
default_config
.Having just installed Home Assistant for the first time yesterday, being able to disable only a few items while still benefiting from future additions was something I wanted as well.
I'm not a python developer so this implementation is likely flawed but it results in me being able to disable modules in the config granularly:
